Michael has proven to be among the most determined, dedicated
players on the roster and his development and strength have lifted
him to the starting assignment at center where he returns for his
junior season...his emergence helped to make Tech better up front,
and he could be a potential honor candidate if his performance in
2010 and during 2011 spring work are an indication...has also
continued to work hard during off season to increase his size and
strength, and could be the strongest player on the squad...shined
brightly during spring drills.
AT TECH (In 2010): Hard work in the weight room
paid off, both individually for Michael as well as for the
team...he emerged as the starter at center and handled that role
for all 11 contests...was among the most effective offensive
lineman in an experienced front five.
(In 2009): Michael saw action in the first three games as
a true freshman...did not get onto the field for several games,
then returned in the season finale against Murray State.
HIGH SCHOOL: Michael played football for coach
Jackie Kelly at Westmoreland High School...lettered three seasons
in football, two as a starter...played right guard on the offensive
line and tackle on defense...helped his team win a regional
championship as a sophomore...was a Class AA Mr. Football finalist
as a senior.
PERSONAL: The son of Randy Barlow, Sr. and
Patricia Barlow...birthdate is December 3, 1990...full name is
Michael Vincent Baker...majoring in EXPW.
